Known, rare bug found:
After watching a play through of the game through Discord, things seemed to be running at half the normal speed. However, a fresh install of a newer version fixed the issue. The cause of the issue is unknown, as was the fix.

If you're having problems, tweaking system graphics settings may help, particularly toggling vsync and restarting the game. Otherwise, a fresh/ more recent install may help. This seems to be a rare case, so whether these fixes help or not, please report if the game is running slow or choppy with system info such as computer specs, graphics card, and display.
